My story
Since my middle school years, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by mentors and a great learning environment at home, school and among peers and friends.
Because of these factors and my experiences, I am still learning by doing.
Always curious to learn
In the early years of school, I saw a movie based on Kevin Mitnick that built a different mindset towards technology. I figured I could learn things easily, with a special interest in reverse engineering. And I was fortunate to get a chance to talk to him for a few minutes 1-on-1 at DEFCON.
I studied for the CEH course and learned a variety of technologies, operating systems and networks. During the first semester of my master's, I realized I wouldn't be able to have career satisfaction in a cyber-security career in the US due to security clearance requirements (being a foreign national). I decided to pivot and help build products and services, mentor and teach, and help wherever I could, and I am still continuing to do so. Most recently, I am intrigued by production using lights and lasers and controlling them using brainwaves.
